GOAL Jersey Day 2025
Our pupils wore their favourite jerseys to school on Friday 17th Oct to raise funds for the charity GOAL.
Thank you to everyone that took part and donated on the day.
It will be greatly appeciated by the charity!
A Reminder - Halloween Fundraiser 2025
Our Halloween sponsored cycle/walk takes place on Wednesday 22nd Oct. If you see our pupils on the road on the day, please give them your support.
This is our first fundraiser of the year and we are really hoping it is as good as a success as previous years! Children will have sponsor cards for the event.

Working hard on our Bí Cineálta Student friendly Policy
Our pupils have been working hard and helping to design our student friendly Bí Cineálta Policy which will be displayed in different areas of the school for our pupils to reference if ever needed.
We still have lots more colour and pictures to add but well done to everyone so far on a great effort

Welcome to our new Junior Infants 2025/2026
Our new Junior Infant pupils Willow, Alex and Aifric have had a fantastic first week at Scoil San Eoin and have settled so well into school life. A huge well done to them. We would all like to welcome them to Scoil San Eoin and we hope they have many happy memories with us.
Senior Room School Tour 2025
Our Senior room pupils had the end of year school tour on Monday 23rd June and went to the Heritage Park in Wexford.
Pupils had a fantastic day and really enjoyed the visit.
They took part in a guided tour with an costumed instrucor who gave so many interesting nuggets of information to the children. Next up was The Daily Life. This included coin striking which consists of the student striking a mold with a hammer to mark their own coin. Our pupils learned how the people lived, the weapons they used, and had an opportunity to try on some costumes.
Lastly we done a falconry experience and this was the highlight of the day. Every pupils got involved and really enjoyed the experience which included handling the birds of prey.
Overall it was a brilliant day and as always the pupil were impeccably well behaved.
Active week for our Junior room pupils!!
Our Junior room pupils finished our final week of school by doing an active week. They done lots of activities and games in Cullen park. We are very lucky to have access to this wonderful local amenity.

Sports Day 2025
This year we held our annual Sports Day on Tuesday 24th June
Again the weather gods were with us and it was a lovely warm dry day. All the pupils were divided into teams of mixed classes and the theme for the day is that each pupil was to do their best, encourage their teammates and have fun!!!
It was a fantastic day and all our pupils were great teamplayers and had great fun. As always our senior pupils minded and took care of our smaller ones and showed them how everything was done.
We ended the day of sports with a tug of war and so many parents took part. It was great fun and very competitive!!.
Each pupil got a lovely medal for participation and we had also were treated to gorgeas snacks on the day with ice creams.
We also presented our 6th class with their traditional going away gift which included a gorgeas personalized hoody, a framed class photo, a personalized candle and a personalized keyring as a memento for their time spent at Scoil San Eoin.
Huge thanks to the Parents Reps and all the parents who helped out on the day,

Summer Stars at Arklow Library!
Dear Parents,
See below information regarding the Summer Stars at Arklow Library.
Encouraging your child to take part in Summer Stars is a great way for them to continue their learning journey and have fun while they do it!
Research shows that children who read over the summer maintain or even increase their reading levels and return to school more prepared for the new school year.
Reading booklets and bags: All participants in Arklow will be given a Summer Stars bag, reading booklet with puzzles and activities to record and track their own progress plus their own star to go in our window. They can stamp their card for their favourite book read each week plus there's a bookmark, sticker, pencil and seeded bookmark as prizes. There will be a certificate and medal at the end for all participants.
EBooks and AudioBooks Count Too! BorrowBox ebook and audiobook collections are available through the app or online. These collections are free to all library members.
Events and Activities There are always activities and events taking place in Arklow Library. The Magic Table (which so many classes have visited during the year) is available for booking by families and friends. Check out our website or social media accounts for more details or ask us to be added to the Arklow Library weekly newsletter which keeps you updated on all the upcoming events.
6th Class 2025 outing
Suzy, Edward and Callan went on their final end of year school outing to Jumpzone as Scoil San Eoin 6th class 2025 on Friday 20th June. Thank you to parents for organising and we hope you all had a great time.
Junior room school tour 2025
Our Junior room had their end of year school tour on Friday at Secret Valley Park in Clonroache. The weather gods were looking after us and the children all had a fantastic time. They got to take part in lots of activities from feeding and holding the different animals and they got lots of playtime in the park and on ride ons and the new bouncy castles. There was great excitement throughout the day and the children were rewarded with a lovely hot lunch of nuggets & chips after all the activities. There were lots of sleepy heads on our bus returning home that evening but we had an amazing day and a great end to term 24/25.
Taekwondo & Tennis for Term 3
Term 3
Pupils from Junior Infants up to sixth class have been doing a 4 week course in Taekwondo with instructor Tom Thortan. These classes are following on from a very successful taster class and block we last completed with Tom Thorton. Taekwondo has lots of fantastic benefits for children:
The children have been really enjoying these classes each week and you can see their confidence and skills developing each week.
Our Junior room pupils also got to complete a Tennis workshop. They really enjoyed this and there were lots of games and competitions with prizes. Everyone gave the tasks a super effort so well done to you all.
It has been a vey busy last few weeks of term 3 with activities and workshops and our pupils really enjoyed being active and getting outdoors!!

Outdoor Maths trail
Last week pur pupils participated in an outdoor Maths trail around the school. Our junior room pupils were led the senior room pupils. They all had lots of fun and while elarning.
There was learning in measurements, time, angles and shapes as part of the trail and were learning how maths can be incorporated into everyday life through problem solving. Pupils completed their activities in teams.
We done everyone and thank you to our SR pupils who done a great job leading the teams!!
Outdoor painting done by our wonderful SR pupils!!!
Our senior room pupils got to work with Ms Greene and Thomas and done lots of outdoor painting to get our fabulous outdoor space ready for the Summer Fair and the Summer. The garden is now an array of beautiful summer colours and our furniture looks great again. They got some ice cream treats afterwards to reward them for all their hard work. Well done everyone!!
