La Glás/World Book Day Dress Up

To finish off celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge and our Scholastic Book fair our pupils dressed up in green or as their favourite book character on Friday 20th March. Our pupils made a fantastic effort and there were lots of colourful outfits for World Book Day and the traditional green for La Glás!!

Our student teachers Ms Mullett and Ms Kenny have been very busy practising and learning Amhrán na bhFiann with our pupils and also the Walls of Limerick dance. On Friday our pupils performed their song and dance together as a whole school. Everyone done such a great job and the enthusiasm was fantastic.

Engineering Week

Our pupils from the Senior room took advantage of the gorgeas sun on Friday to experiment with solar energy. In pairs, the pupils used windmills and motors powered by mini solar panels to make colourful designs. Everyone really enjoyed experimenting with colours and different areas of the school grounds to get the most of the afternoon sunlight. This was part of engineering week. Well done everyone!

Active Movement Break Week

Last week our school took part in the 'Croke Park movement breaks' as part of the Active Breaks Challenge for 2026. These challenges have been supported by the GAA who, working with the Active School Flag team, have created a set of English and Irish movement break videos to support this initiative, each of which is filmed at a different location around Croke Park.

Our Classes got behind-the-scenes look at where the team buses arrive, inside the players’ dressing rooms and the warm up areas where legends get game ready. They also got to learn interesting facts about Croke Park.

Pupils from all our classes took part in these movement breaks last week and really enjoyed it.

Well done everyone!! Great Job!
