Also, there was stuffed animals for the children to pet and feel such as; Hedgehog, Badger and a Rabbit. Many Thanks to our guest speakers for such a lovely experience.
Clouds
All the children in the Junior Room have been learning about Clouds for the month of January. This theme was linked in with "An Aimsir". RI & RII got an opportunity to record clouds daily in the morning for a week and predict what weather we would experience in the afternoon. This geography outdoor trail was enjoyed by all. They had a Cloud finder to assist in naming the different clouds and a description of what a cloud should look like.

Junior Entrepreneur Programme gets started!!
The Junior Entrepreneur Programme is well underway in the Senior classroom. The pupils looked at what entrepreneurship is all about. They researched national and international entrepreneurs, the companies they set up and what services/products they provide. For the second stage the class has begun to look at the traits and characteristics of an entrepreneur and their own talents and characteristics, especially those which they can bring to a team and this JEP process. They had to come up with two about themselves and then one about each member of their team. A very positive experience! They began exploring ideas within their assigned groups and are now whittling down their ideas to one per group which they will present to the Dragons on Thursday the 9th!! Exciting stuff!!
One Point Perspective Art
The Seniors looked at how to draw one point perspective drawings. After looking at several samples and discussing the step by step process and link with maths, they created some amazing pieces of art! Well done all!
The Science of Plants
The senior room learned about the parts of plants and their functions. They looked at the variety and classification of plants and did an experiment to show how they absorb water.

Confirmation Enrolment Ceremony
The Enrolment Ceremony for Confirmation for 5th and 6th Classes will take place on January 27th at 2pm in the computer room. We would like to invite all parents/guardians to attend. This is the start of the pupils journey in towards receiving the Sacrament and parents/guardians will be involved in this preparation. However, as space is limited, numbers are restricted to one adult per child.
We will need a parent/guardian to do a reflection and another to light a candle. If you would like to undertake either of these roles, please contact the office. Pupils may go home straight after but parents with pupils in junior class will have to wait until 3pm to collect them.
Points to note:
Pupils need to have the name of their Confirmation sponsor by Monday 16th January and this sponsor MUST be over 16. Over the coming weeks, pupils should be considering their choice of Confirmation name. They also need to have their baptismal candle or, failing that, a suitable cream or white candle, for the ceremony of light which will be before the Confirmation.
Albs will be rented through the school and cost will be advised nearer the time.
Please keep checking the website as all further information will be available here.
