Yoga - Certs of Completion in Yoga & Positive Living
Our final class of yoga was on Weds 20th June which finalised our 5 week classes. The children throughly enjoyed the sessions and gained lots of positives from the classes.

6th Class Bowling Night
The 6th Class pupils enjoyed their final night out at Wicklow Bowl on Friday 15th June. Everyone had a great evening. Thank you to everyone involved.

Active Sports Week (11th June - 15th June)
We have enjoyed a very successful Active Schools Week. Every morning we began with Wake Up Shake Up led by sixth class pupils. This had us energized for the day ahead. We took part in a variety of activities throughout the week such as dance, circuits, yoga and parachute games. The week culminated in a whole school challenge where we ran a total of 45km around the school. Well done everyone, lets keep active!
Mobile Library - Last Date Friday 22/06/2018
The mobile library will be at the school next Friday 22nd June to collect all books. Please ensure all books have been returned to the school by Weds 20th June. If you have received notification of lost books not returned please ensure these are returned also.

Friday 15th June
- All school reports issued by post. Due to new GDPR law we are unable to issue by email due to the nature of the content.
Thursday 21st June
- Last Yoga class taking place. This is in place of the class rescheduled on 31st May.
Friday 22nd June
- School tour taking place to IT Blanchardstown. Please ensure all children are at the school gate by 08.50am for departure that morning at 09.00am sharp. We will return to the school by 04.30pm.
Monday 25th June
- Sports Day taking place at the school @ 10.30am weather permitting. Please dress all children appropriately and ensure they are wearing sunscreen/hats if weather is hot.
Weds 27th June
- End of term surprise for the children
- Summer Holidays @ 12.30

Uniform Collection Point - Old Uniforms fit for re-use
There will be a bag drop off located in the school office where parents can drop off old school jumpers & tee-shirts that have gone too small for children or are no longer used.
All jumpers/tee-shirts must be clean and in good condition and fit for re-use.

With all this beautiful weather we are having, can we remind all parents of the following sun safety advice during hot weather.
- Please ensure all children are wearing suncream
- Please ensure all children have sunhats
- Please give you child/children extra drinks to bring
- Please ensure our school dress code is adhered to

Well done to all the scientists at Scoil San Eoin.
Scoil San Eoin have just been awarded a Science Foundation Ireland Discover Science and Maths Plaque of STEM Excellence for the 2017/18 academic year. This is a reflection of the excellent science, technology, engineering and maths work being carried out in the school. All the students have been working hard to achieve this since September. Well done to all, we await the arrival of our plaque in the coming weeks.

Reminder to all
Reminder to all that Yoga classes are commencing this Thurs 24.05.2018.
The school will be closed on Friday 25.05.2018 due to being a polling station for upcoming Referendum.
Guest Speaker - Mary Hickey's visit to Scoil San Eoin
We had the honour of having a visit from the local legend Mary Hickey from Arklow on Friday 11th May. Mary has just completed a lap of Ireland running in aid of the RNLI and has raised well over €50,000 for the cause.
Age 65, she has been running for 50 years and has completed all 38 marathons.
The children got to speak to Mary and ask her questions all about her experience and travels as she ran around Ireland.
It was a great morning and a huge thanks to Mary for visiting Scoil San Eoin!
School closure for Referendum - Friday 25th May 2018
We have been notified that our school is to be used as a polling station on Friday 25th May 2018. Therefore, we are not permitted to open the school on that day. The school will be closed and no activities will take place in the building that day other than voting.

Thank you!! Bagpack Fundraiser Total - Friday 27/04 & Sat 28/04
We had a bagpack fundraiser at the weekend in Dunnes Stores Bridgewater.
The total funds raised were as follows:
- Friday raised €380.30
- Sat raised €417.65
Thank you to all the families and all staff who took time out of their busy schedules to help. We really appreciate it.
World Book Day - Monday 23.04.2018
World Book Day was a great success at Scoil San Eoin. The children and parents made a great effort in coming up with ideas and great costumes. The school was a great array of colours on the day. Well done to all students.
All names were put together to choose the winners of the 2 book vouchers for the Reading Challenge.
Cian Maher and Abigail Byrne were the winners and received a €15.00 book voucher each. Well done to them both and to everyone else that took part!
