Heritage Ireland Workshop
On Monday 27th April, we had a full day workshop from writer and Heritage Ireland specialist Sheila Forsey. Pupils from all classes took part.
The theme of the workshop was Bealtaine. Pupils learned about the different farming seasons and they took part in activities throughout the day. One of the activities was an old children's game where pupils had to work as 3 parts/individuals and then work together to make their machine work/move. Sheila also brought an old mug which had been found many years ago after digging on a farm and explained how research and letters were written and completed to try to find out history about the discovery. There was lots of singing and dancing through the day which everyone enjoyed
Sheila has also written her own books on historical fiction and showed the children these and spoke about historical writing.
All of our pupils absolutely loved the workshop and had lots of fun and learned so much . Thank you to Sheila for a great day !
