Our annual school Halloween Sponsored Cycle/Walk took place on Wednesday 22nd Oct. The weather gods blessed us again as they have most years and we were so fortunate with the beautiful weather which made it a nicer day to cycle & walk!!
We had 2 options again this year for the pupils to choose from:
A 7k cycle around Ballykane- As with last year we were delighted to have lots of our Junior room pupils choosing to do the cycle and they managed it amazingly. Our pupils from both rooms and parents had spent lots of time practicing and cycling since our last cycle last year and it was so apparent as we completed the cycle in an hour which is an amazing time for all our pupils. We are all so proud of you and the children have well and truly proved that we are a very active school.
Our other option was a walk to from and around Cullen Park. Pupils who chose this option done lots of steps while there and even had time to listen to nature sounds and collect some leaves for an art activity that we were completing in school
After both the cycle and walks were complete we all had some much-needed refreshments and Halloween treats back at school.
The day was a fantastic success achieved only by the help and volunteering of our parents who were road marshals, who cycled alongside our pupils and who walked and helped supervise the pupils in Cullen Park. Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day, we couldn’t of done it without you.
Thank you also to our parent reps who helped in organizing the refreshments for afterwards.
Our pupils will have their sponsor cards until after the Halloween Break and we are hoping that friends and families will sponsor them for completing their task so well.
A huge well done to all our pupils and teachers for taking part in the event.
Check out all our fantastic photos and videos that were captured on the day.
